It’s always so exciting to begin working with AmeriCorps programs that have been around since the earliest days of the country’s national service movement. To tha tend, we couldn’t be more excited to begin serving Appalachia CARES, which is in its 28th year as an AmeriCorps program. Wow!
Appalachia CARES is a community-based service-learning program which promotes Community, Action, Responsibility, Education, and Service as program cornerstones. Appalachia CARES AmeriCorps members engage in direct service with youth, students, adults and volunteers throughout Tennessee in partnership with community-based organizations and local agencies. The overall goal of the program is to impact participants through service-learning, focusing specifically on the areas of energy efficiency & conservation, community housing services, and expanding community organizations.
Through the Impact Suite, we’ll be powering the organization’s efforts of helping staff reallocate enormous amounts of time spent on AmeriCorps member timesheets and member files to efforts that really strengthen communities.
