Welcome to CAPK!

So excited to begin working with the newest AmeriCorps program in California, managed by Community Action Partnership of Kern.

Each CAPK member will have one of two roles: either as a mentor or as a youth participatory researcher.

  • Mentors will be facilitating tutoring sessions, working with students and parents to increase students’ school attendance, and participating in a number of service projects.
  • Researchers will be conducting evidence-based research of the work being done at a local Boys & Girls Club, and then take specific actions in the community as a result of that research.

We’re so looking forward to providing CAPK with all of the systems it needs to effectively and efficiently run and AmeriCorps program so that as much staff time as possible can be focused on serving the community’s youth.
