YouthBuild Global empowers underserved young people worldwide to transform their lives and communities through education, job training, and leadership development. It supports local partners in adapting the YouthBuild model to address the unique needs of their regions, focusing on equipping youth with skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.
Each year, more than 2,100 opportunity youth across 60 YouthBuild programs serve more than 750,000 hours of service as YouthBuild AmeriCorps members in their communities by building affordable homes and other community assets. For the completion of their service term requirements, YouthBuild AmeriCorps members earn a Segal Education Award that can be used to pay for education expenses at post-secondary institutions and technical schools or repay qualified school loans.
A subset of those AmeriCorps members serve through the organization’s VISTA program, which works to strengthen the capacity of YouthBuild programs across the U.S. to empower young people aged 16-24 who are not in school and face significant barriers to success. These programs integrate education, job training, and leadership development, enabling youth to build skills for future careers while contributing to their communities through construction and service projects.
AmeriCorps VISTA members help YouthBuild programs expand their impact by developing resources, building partnerships, increasing volunteer engagement, and creating sustainable systems to support students and alumni. The program emphasizes addressing poverty, supporting education, and fostering economic opportunities in under-resourced communities.
We’re thrilled and honored that YouthBuild Global has decided to begin using the Impact Suite to streamline its operations around AmeriCorps VISTA timesheets and member files, freeing up staff time and service member time while easing grant compliance burdens for all.
Welcome!
