715 AmeriCorps Members from Washington State Join the America Learns Community

After piloting the Timesheets and Communications components of the AmeriCorps Impact Suite this past year, the Washington Service Corps and Washington Reading Corps have decided to invest in both component for all 715 of their members.  We’re honored to have earned the trust of these two incredible teams.

Washington Service Corps

About the Washington Service Corps
The Washington Service Corps (WSC) was created by the Washington State Legislature in 1983 to give young adults 18 to 25 years old opportunities to serve their communities.  The federal government created a similar program — AmeriCorps — 11 years later.  WSC places more than 500 AmeriCorps members with nonprofit organizations, local government agencies, schools, and early-learning centers to address a variety of unmet and pressing community needs.

Washington Reading Corps

About the Washington Reading Corps
The Washington Reading Corps (WRC) is actively engaged in improving literacy in communities, local schools, and learning centers throughout the state.  Created in 1998, WRC has served as a national model to improve the reading abilities of thousands of struggling readers.
