Aging Strong is a comprehensive, Idaho-based initiative designed to empower older adults through supporting their community. Let’s delve into the distinct programs offered:
LEGACY CORPS CAREGIVER SUPPORT:
The Legacy Corps Caregiver Support program — run in partnership with the national Legacy Corps AmeriCorps program — pairs volunteers and AmeriCorps members with service-connected families in need of companionship visits. This program provides much-needed respite for caregivers while offering older adults a meaningful way to connect with others.
FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM:
The Foster Grandparent Program, funded through AmeriCorps Seniors, connects older adults with classrooms where they can serve as “classroom grandparents.” These volunteers offer tutoring, mentoring, and a listening ear to students, helping to foster academic and personal growth.
POWERFUL TOOLS FOR CAREGIVERS:
The Powerful Tools for Caregivers program offers workshops designed to equip caregivers with the tools and resources they need to thrive, not just survive. Through interactive workshops, participants learn strategies for managing stress, improving communication, and maintaining their own well-being.
For some time, Jannus has been evaluating platforms to determine if there could really be a single platform to handle volunteer enrollment and management, grant compliance for AmeriCorps and non-AmeriCorps funding, timesheets, impact tracking, and helping the organization the most powerful story possible about its programs. We’re honored (and so excited) about the Impact Suite checking off all the boxes — not just because it had the right toolset, but also because it can be up-and-running for all of the above programs in a matter of days and is friendly for people who might have less-comfort with technology.
Welcome!
