We’re sooooooo excited and grateful to begin working with Breakthrough Twin Cities in Minnesota!
Breakthrough Twin Cities (BTC) exists to reduce disparities in education for under-represented students. The core of BTC’s program is a rigorous college-preparatory summer learning program for high-need and high-potential middle school students in Minneapolis and St. Paul. In support of this mission, starting this past summer, AmeriCorps Teaching Fellows deliver academic instruction, including lesson planning, student engagement, classroom management, and administration in order to effectively prepare BTC students to be successful in the upcoming school year and beyond.
The Breakthrough model is incredibly effective: Last year, AmeriCorps released this ROI study finding that the program administered in Texas returns as much as $54.56 of value to the government and communities for each federal dollar invested.
BTC is the sixth Breakthrough affiliate that’s choosing to use the Impact Suite, the others being Breakthrough Miami, Breakthrough Central Texas, Breakthrough Atlanta, Breakthrough Silicon Valley, and Breakthrough Cincinnati. When it comes to managing AmeriCorps member files and timesheets, it fills us up to know that we’re helping staff members at Breakthrough affiliates nationwide stay clear of things like Google Sheets, Excel, multiple document signing systems, and hard-to-use software so that as much energy as possible can be directed towards mission and serving students.
