In the heart of the struggle against HIV/AIDS, Damien Ministries stands as a testament to compassion and progress. Inspired by the life and work of Father Damien, who dedicated himself to those afflicted with leprosy in Hawaii, Damien Ministries was founded in 1987 with a mission to serve the “poorest of the poor” living with HIV and AIDS.
The ministry’s work is multifaceted, addressing both the medical and social needs of those it serves. It offers free HIV and HCV testing to residents of DC, Maryland, and Virginia, ensuring that testing is accessible to all who seek it. But the support doesn’t end with testing; Damien Ministries provides a holistic approach to care, understanding that those living with HIV/AIDS face not just physical challenges but emotional and social ones as well.

Damien Ministries’ Expanded Use of the Impact Suite
Damien Ministries began working with us two years ago, adopting the AmeriCorps-compliance side of our platform to support its then-new Public Health AmeriCorps program. Today, we’re honored that Damien Ministries is expending its use of the Impact Suite far beyond its AmeriCorps efforts — using the platform to strengthen and scale its client case management efforts at sites in D.C. and nationwide. Staff will soon be able to spend far less time logging and tracking client interactions while also making it easier to be on the same page about what’s happening with any one client at any moment. Additionally, reporting to government funders will be a breeze with the Impact Suite’s flexible reporting tools.
