Seven years ago, Serve Kentucky moved its data collection efforts for AmeriCorps grantee progress reporting to the Impact Suite. Commission staff chose the Impact Suite because staff wanted a truly flexible, customizable platform that made it easy to not just collect AmeriCorps-required data, but also information that allows commission staff to better support their programs.
As one example, Serve Kentucky has used the Impact Suite to dramatically reduce the time spent going through checklists during site visits, allowing those visits to be far more meaningful for and supportive of AmeriCorps subgrantees.
Enter AmeriCorps eGrants Modernization
What’s become pretty clear with AmeriCorps’ eGrants modernization effort is that the new eGrants won’t include a simple way to collect and manage applications from subgrantees — functionality that service commissions have come to rely heavily upon (especially for Formula applications).
In response, we’ve updated the Impact Suite to allow for an efficient way to collect and organize applications — both for brand new applicants and for programs recompeting. We’ve also made it a breeze to quickly get e-mails and text messages out to applicants about any topic, such as changes to deadlines. The platform handles Volunteer Generation Fund (VGF) applications as well!
Serve Kentucky just became the first service commission to take advantage of the AmeriCorps Applications module. We’re so excited to help the commission eliminate all the Word docs they used to use for applications while simultaneously providing a clear, clean, simple path to handle eGrants modernization in this area.
Serve Kentucky team, we’re so grateful for the opportunity to serve and learn from you in this expanded way! Thanks so much for the opportunity.
