Partnering for Impact: California’s Youth Service Corps & the Impact Suite

Youth Service Corps

When California Volunteers set out to expand opportunities for young people through the Youth Service Corps, they needed a system that would make it easier for program and city staff to focus on supporting youth—not on paperwork and administrative burdens. That’s where our partnership comes in.

The Impact Suite has been selected to power all impact tracking for the Youth Service Corps, building on our long-standing collaboration with California Volunteers.  Our work with CV’s CollegeCorps program since the program’s inception showed how the right tools can free up program leaders to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time ensuring young people succeed.  Now, we’re excited to support Youth Service Corps in doing the same—helping staff focus on employment pathways, skill development, and service opportunities rather than getting lost in spreadsheets and grant reporting.

Why the Impact Suite?
California Volunteers needed a platform that is easy to use, adaptable to their needs, and aligned with the state’s security requirements.  With the Impact Suite, Youth Service Corps programs across the state can efficiently manage HR, measure impact, and ensure grant compliance—without drowning in paperwork.  That means city and nonprofit leaders can focus on what matters most: helping young people gain valuable experience, earn a paycheck, and build a path to long-term success.

But this is about more than technology.  It’s about ensuring staff have the bandwidth to provide the mentorship and support youth need.  It’s about giving local governments and community organizations the ability to tackle food insecurity, climate action, and public service challenges without being weighed down by administrative complexity.  And it’s about making sure the impact of this program is clearly seen and understood, so future opportunities for youth can continue to grow.

Service as a Pathway Forward
The Youth Service Corps is more than an employment program—it’s an investment in young peoples’ futures.  With programs launching in cities across the state, young people will gain skills, earn a paycheck, and receive wraparound services like job training and résumé preparation.  These experiences are life-changing, but only if the people running the programs have the time and resources to provide the right support.  That’s why we’re so passionate about reducing administrative burdens—so state administrators and city-level implementation staff can focus on youth, not paperwork.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to play a role in this work and can’t wait to see the impact unfold.  Welcome!
