It’s always such an honor to work with AmeriCorps programs that are just starting up, which brings us to SERVE HOUSTON, the latest AmeriCorps program in Texas to use the AmeriCorps Impact Suite for AmeriCorps members files, timesheets, electronic desk reviews/audits, and communications.
Following a successful pilot last year, starting this September, SERVE HOUSTON’s AmeriCorps program will engage the elderly, individuals with disabilities, veterans and other vulnerable populations in living healthier by providing outreach, training, and hands-on activities on nutrition, wellness practices, social and physical fitness and other activities.
The program’s host agency, Volunteer Houston, is the Points of Light affiliate in Houston. Points of Light is the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. They mobilize millions of people to take action that is changing the world through affiliates in 250 cities across 37 countries and partnerships with thousands of nonprofits and corporations. Points of Light engages 5 million volunteers in 20 million hours of service each year.
