Unlocking Creativity: A Recap of “The Art of Service Artshop”

During our third AmeriCorps workshop of 2024, national service program members from across the country came together to reflect on their service through art, discussions, and even a freestyle rap. It was a wonderful event! We’re so grateful to TJ Reynolds for returning as host and creating a community space that evoked smiles, laughter, tears, and in some cases, rapping their own poem.

Participants got a TON out of the workshop. Here is what they shared:

TJ was amazing, multi-talented! Happy to be able to learn from such a creative person.” – NYCHA Health Corps

“Loved the freestyle. Best start to a meeting ever.” – Homewood Children’s Village AmeriCorps

“Many mediums of art to use for reflecting, It’s good to share your work and experiences to build community” – NYC Service AmeriCorps City Service Corps

“It’s great to take a moment to reflect and slow down because things you haven’t thought about in a while can pop up – things that are affirming, happy, calming, etc.” – Illinois JusticeCorps

“This workshop gave me some ideas for reflection activities to do with our members. I’m excited to try out some of the prompts.” – Homewood Children’s Village AmeriCorps
