We’re honored to welcome Volunteer West Virginia to the community of state service commissions using America Learns.
Their team is adopting both The Grant Gateway and the Impact Suite, giving them connected support for two important sides of AmeriCorps work: the grantmaking process before awards are made, and the reporting, monitoring, timesheet, AmeriCorps volunteer file, and compliance work that follows.
That matters because commission work is detailed, high-stakes, and deeply human.
Behind every application, report, timesheet, member file, and monitoring note is a person trying to serve communities well while keeping up with complex requirements. Our job is to make that work clearer, calmer, and easier to manage.
Supporting the full AmeriCorps grant lifecycle
With The Grant Gateway, Volunteer West Virginia will be able to manage AmeriCorps grant competitions, application intake, reviewer assignments, scoring, clarification, revised submissions, and award workflows in one place.
With the Impact Suite, their team and programs will have support for the post-award side of AmeriCorps oversight, including financial reporting, progress reporting, member timesheets, member files, monitoring notes, document requests, follow-up, and compliance records.
Together, the two systems give Volunteer West Virginia a more connected way to support programs from application to award, and from award through implementation.
Software is only part of the story
For us, this partnership is not just about giving Volunteer West Virginia access to new tools.
It’s about being present when questions come up. It’s about helping staff think through workflows before they become headaches. It’s about making sure programs feel supported, not dropped into another system and left to figure things out on their own.
That’s the part of America Learns we’re proudest of.
Yes, the technology matters. The Grant Gateway and Impact Suite will help connect grantmaking, reporting, monitoring, timesheets, files, and compliance records.
But the real goal is simpler than that: help the people doing the work feel less alone, more organized, and better supported.
A calmer way to manage complex work
State service commissions carry a lot.
They support applicants. They guide programs. They monitor compliance. They answer questions. They prepare for audits. They manage deadlines, documents, reports, corrections, and changing requirements.
The right system should make that work feel lighter — not heavier.
That’s what we’re building toward with Volunteer West Virginia: a practical, high-support environment where staff can see what’s happening, programs know what’s expected, and important records are easier to find when they’re needed.
Thank you, Volunteer West Virginia
To the Volunteer West Virginia team: thank you for your trust, your partnership, and the care you bring to service across the Mountain State.
We’re proud to support your work.
And we’re excited to help your team and programs spend less time wrestling with systems — and more time strengthening service across West Virginia.
