A very warm welcome to 826 Boston, whose national service program is the latest to join the America Learns community.
826 Boston provides free writing and tutoring programs for Boston students ages 6 to 18, serving more than 4,500 students and forming supportive partnerships with 150 teachers annually. The organizatoin maintains a network of more than 2,500 volunteers from the Boston community—including professional writers, artists, and teachers. More than 700 volunteers regularly devote their time and talents to our programs. These qualified and compassionate individuals are involved in each and every program 826 Boston offers.
826 Boston’s 15 AmeriCorps members tutor students and train volunteers in 826 Boston Writers’ Rooms in Boston Public Schools. Additionally, AmeriCorps members leverage an additional 500 volunteers that will be engaged in supporting project-based learning in each Writers’ Room site.
