We’re thrilled to welcome Oklahoma-based Cities in Schools to the community of national service programs using the AmeriCorps Impact Suite!
Cities in Schools provides literacy-based afterschool and summer programs to students in preschool through fifth grade.
During the school year, the organization provides students with scheduled homework time paired with daily activities in either math or reading. CIS also offers the CATCH curriculum, Basic Training, Girls on the Run, and karate/kung fu classes.
During the summer, children participate in an hour of daily reading activities and thirty minutes of daily math activities. In addition to these activities, the children rotate through CATCH, Basic Training, arts and crafts, music, computers, life skills, science, nutrition and media time.
We’ve been blown away by the commitment and passion that this organization’s team exudes. It’s truly an honor to support their efforts.
