We’re excited to announce that the two AmeriCorps programs lead by Northwestern CT AHEC are beginning to use the timesheets and communications portions of the AmeriCorps Impact Suite.
Northwestern CT AHEC enhances access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of health professionals. Towards those efforts, it runs one AmeriCorps program in its home state and one national program.
The state-based program is called CT AHEC NETWORK AmeriCorps. Its AmeriCorps members lead middle and high school students in service learning projects that help to address pressing health issues in their communities.
The national-level program, Youth Mental Health First Aid Corps, engages both AHEC centers and other community-based organizations around the nation to implement Youth Mental Health First Aid training. Members serve at community-based sites in 15 states to help communities improve their ability to respond to the mental health care needs of youth.
