Welcome to Ending Hunger Corps!

Maine Ending Hunger Corps

Ending Hunger Corps is an AmeriCorps VISTA program sponsored by Maine’s Department of Agriculture, Conservation, Forestry (DACF), with the goal of building capacity to fulfill Maine’s historic commitment to creating a hunger-free state by 2030.  Maine is the only state in the US that has passed a law to end hunger, along with a strategic plan to do so.

Ending Hunger Corps is a foundational element in Everyone at the Table: Maine’s Roadmap to End Hunger by 2030. The Roadmap recognizes the existence of resource organizations throughout the State, but that the effectiveness of the organizations was limited by their capacity. Ending Hunger Corps was formed with the purpose of overcoming that limitation. Using the skills of VISTA members from around the country to increase the capacity and effectiveness of food security programs, Ending Hunger Corps is working with organizations in actively stabilizing families throughout Maine.

Endhing Hunger Corps will be using the Impact Suite to reduce reporting and administrative burdens on its VISTAs (EG, member files and timesheets) while giving staff and VISTA Leaders far more time to really use data to improve program quality in the short- and long-run.

Welcome!
