An estimated 400,000 adults in Orange County do not read or write well enough to meet their needs as workers, family members, and members of the community. The Libraries’ three literacy programs (Adult Basic Literacy Skills, Working for Inmate Literacy Now, and Family Literacy) provide free assistance structured around each learner’s personal goals, needs, and life circumstances.
